Coffee Shop Confrontation

We carried on our conversation. It was a nice day, having taken out the trash.

A tall, intimidating, older, obese man with a hat and a cane dressed in head to toe maintenance worker uniform comes into the coffee shop in Calgary and tries to interject himself into a conversation with me. On a few occasions. I always ignore him. Today, he ridicules me, my assistive device, and my camera bag. He has become progressively more aggressive.

I stop my conversation with the beautiful woman who has agreed to model for me, turn to him and politely but firmly tell him what I prefer as to conversation that centres me out and focuses on my disability in public. He talks over me and interrupts me. I repeat my message. He packs up and leaves in true victim fashion.

A life maintenance task that needed to be dealt with without needless delay, similar to taking out any unwanted garbage.

We carried on our conversation. It was a nice day, having taken out the trash.
